As California’s capital university, Sacramento State holds a special place in the educational landscape of the state. Recognizing that attribute as Sac State’s partner, Phoenix Philanthropy drew upon its well-honed insights and data to handle many diverse responsibilities during our multi-year consulting relationship. Going above and beyond the scope of work, we started with initial campaign preparation and planning, including readiness assessment and a market positioning study, and moved to campaign counsel for the $200 million On the Rise campaign. Our work has included major, planned, and annual giving; messaging, communications, and marketing for diverse constituencies; best practices and recommendations to grow and strengthen alumni relations, annual giving programs, and donor pipeline; and volunteer leadership development and related training. Well into the campaign, Sac State is poised to surpass its goal.
