A worldwide phenomenon, Make-A-Wish, its chapters, and volunteers have enriched the lives of more than 250,000 children with life-threatening medical conditions around the world. In our work with Make-A-Wish America, we drew upon our deep expertise, data, and insight to assess the Arizona chapter’s fundraising capacity and performance, which were facing many challenges. We created a three-year fundraising roadmap, developed internal systems and resources, and provided training and coaching to support the plan’s implementation, and we concurrently led the chapter’s strategic planning process. Phoenix Philanthropy provided interim management of the development department, handing off a stronger fundraising program to a dynamic new President and CEO and new Chief Development Officer. They – with their engaged and enthusiastic Board of Directors – have led a transformation of the Chapter, creating one of the strongest chapters in the country. Executive leadership and the Board later engaged Phoenix Philanthropy to conduct a feasibility/positioning study for an ambitious endowment campaign.
